Laying Down our Roots

We have many initiatives planned to celebrate BSJ 40. The first of these is to plant 40 Scots Pine trees to celebrate this milestone, and to remember each of those wonderful years, how we have grown as a club and all that we have achieved.

Our members who are from near and far are part of the wonderful Ballinteer St Johns community. It is in this community that we are all laying down our roots. Planting 40 trees in Marlay Park in the heart of our community symbolises how we are “Laying down our roots” and also highlights that Ballinteer St Johns is deeply rooted in its community. Our youngest nursery group will plant a tree every year going forward.

While everyone is welcome to come along to the event, each age group at Ballinteer St Johns will help plant a tree as part of this initiative.

The “Laying down our Roots” ceremony will take place on Sunday 30th January at 3pm in Marlay Park.  All are welcome to attend.   It’s a great opportunity to get out in our Club colours, please wear them if you can!

There will be tea, coffee and refreshments afterwards in the Clubhouse from 4pm (approx).

Thank you for your support with this initiative, the first of many for BSJ40.
