The news that Chris had passed away was of sincere sadness in his local area of Ballinteer Crescent and the wider community of Ballinteer St Johns GAA Club.
Chris was Club Chairman in the early years and was a leader in the development of hurling in the Club.
Together with Ollie Quinlan RIP, Tom Kennedy RIP, Paddy Lawlor RIP, Eamonn Hayes, Eamonn Lawler & Michael Cleary they developed the first under age hurling teams in the Club.
Chris was manager of the first under 11 team in the Club.
He gave outstanding service to Ballinteer St Johns.
